The Trade Alternative Reform Action

Nomads and Tara are teaming up this season to bring you a collection of unique and beautifully handcrafted jewellery direct from craft groups in India.

TARA (Trade Alternative Reform Action) is a fair trade action group working in and around Delhi to help improve social and economic conditions for disadvantaged communities.

Building schools, providing books and teachers for children who were previously working is just one of the ongoing projects that Tara are currently involved in.

The proceeds of this organisation are directly helping poor communities to have better facilities for young and disadvantaged people, offering community based support from a grassroots level.

Nomads was immediately attracted to this project. Not only because of their fair trade actions and overall care in the community but also because they are making amazing jewellery and crafts.

Using recycled materials such as fabric, magazines, and newspaper mixed with glass and wooden beads creates a whimsical theme to this collection. We think the designs make a positive statement with a timeless appeal for all ages. What we find difficult is choosing our favourite piece. We just love them all!
