The hand stitched patchwork fabrics in these delightful wrap jackets are made especially for Nomads by the women of Gujarat and Barmer.

The fabric is first stitched into patchwork quilts which are then over dyed to make the subtle colours. Traditionally bedspreads are made just before the monsoon season using the popular prints of flowers and birds. The bedspreads are then cut to make jackets and bags each piece of which is unique. Much time is taken in production and the women are paid a good wage for this work. Due to the popularity of this range, the demand for quilts has increased and this has helped their income to grow and communities to develop further.
