USES RECYCLED SARIS

Each Piece is UniqueTHIS CHARMING FOLKTALE EXPLAINS THE ORIGIN: "The Sari, it is said, was born on the loom of a fanciful weaver. He dreamt of Woman. The shimmer of her tears. The drape of her tumbling hair. The colours of her many moods. The softness of her touch. All these he wove together. He couldn't stop. He wove for many yards. And when he was done, the story goes, he sat back and smiled and smiled and smiled".

Each year in August, around the time of the full moon, brothers celebrate their sisters by giving them the gift of a sari. All over India unwanted saris are collected from households in exchange for pots. In this way recycling silk sari has grown into a viable trade for many small businesses in India.

This eco collection is made from recycled sari fabrics in an endless array of colours and prints. The quality and benefits of silk provides a long-lasting natural garment which keeps you warm in the winter and cool in the summer months.

It is perfect to travel with because the garments fold down so small. As each of our silk garments are unique one-off pieces we can't guarantee that the colours and patterns will match exactly to the picture.
