Fair Trade

making conscious decisions thinking responsibly

When you think of Fair Trade and what this really means to you, many thoughts may come to mind. As far as we are concerned, it's not just about buying fair trade products like Nomads clothing (which is a fairtrade label), it’s more about awareness, and thinking about the effects of our actions and choices!

Clothing is just one aspect of the big picture. And we hope you can take a few minutes to look into this view with us ~ in fact you may very well have already done so. We are talking about looking after ourselves ~ meaning all of us ~ every single being. How we treat ourselves and how we treat others becomes interchangeable in the larger scale of things. And as the saying goes "what goes around comes around". Some may call this Karma ~ but really it’s just common sense in understanding how the whole planet works, where we are all interdependent. We all need to take more personal responsibility to make the right decisions.

In recent years, the western world of commercial gain has been put increasingly under the microscope by individuals like you, becoming more aware. Today’s consumer is asking a lot more questions about everything they buy. What we are seeing happening is a growing consciousness that our overall well-being is connected to the well-being of Planet Earth. Buying Fair Trade and/or organic clothing like T-shirts; Shopping for Fairtrade products of all kinds; Recycling our waste; Using less plastic; Drinking more water; Taking regular exercise; Learning meditation and yoga; ~ all of these things are helping ourselves while helping others.

"Trade not Aid"

We aim to follow the guidelines and ideals of Fair Trade concerns throughout all of our business relations with suppliers in India, and with our customers back home. The following information should give you some background information to help you understand how we operate. We welcome any enquiries you may have and hope that this will increase knowledge and support of Fair Trade products.

Trading Standards

Nomads buy from established manufacturers in India. We accept the price requested and pay in advance to enable suppliers to buy their materials without having debts and to ensure wages for workers are paid on time. We work with our suppliers throughout the design and production processes, making regular orders with the same companies throughout the year. Through continued trading with our suppliers and working towards improvements in quality of product, we have watched their businesses grow and thrive alongside our own. Nomads buy direct from the producers themselves. This ensures that profit goes directly to the primary source and is not gained by middle men or contractors.
