2008 | |

|
| Dear
Nomads Customers
This season we’ve travelled all around the colourful
markets of Rajasthan, India to source some of the most fabulous prints for our summer collection. Everything
from traditional hand printed earth tones to wild exotic floral blooms. We’ve
kept in mind that simplicity is often the most practical choice when it comes to design and focused on the styles
that you like best. Wrap dresses and stretch jersey skirts are key pieces. In
printed designs and plain colours to mix and match throughout the whole collection.
What’s New for You?
This season’s colours are citrus and berry inspired
with
touches of sand and earth. As always summer dresses are key! We’ve put together pretty skirts and
tops made to co-ordinate throughout your whole Nomads wardrobe.
Fresh off the catwalk we’ve got some fabulous floral
printed maxi and midi length dresses. Great for comfort with wonderful draped effect and so stylish too!
Our ever popular Salsa Dress is reborn again this season
with delicious vibrant colours and long satin ribbons that you can tie as you like. |

We’ve
gone Organic!
This year it’s all about positive thinking and at Nomads
what better way to start than by introducing our first capsule
collection of the softest Organic
Cotton. Choose from a selection of styles in plain colours,
tie dye or simple print designs. |
|
At Nomads we have been striving to use organic cotton
in our clothing for a number of years. Up until now the
cost has been prohibitively expensive as supply in India
has been unable to meet the demand. At last, this situation
has recently changed and we have been able to source organic
cotton yarn at an affordable price that we are delighted
to offer to you.
The
Benefits
Organic farming emits about half the amount of CO2 produced
by chemical methods, the soil is more fertile and it also
employs more workers to harvest the crop naturally so
provides more jobs. It also has huge benefits for the
farmers and the environment. Having strict organic standards
that does not involve the use of chemicals and pesticides
in the growing stage means a healthier work environment
for the farmers.
The
Future |
|
|
This is
a new venture for us, and we are hoping to gradually introduce
organic cotton into all
of our collection where we can, as we will encourage all of
our manufacturers to make the switch. This will have a big impact
in the quality of life for thousands of people who farm and
live near cotton farms throughout India. |

Nomads
Fair Trade Actions
(in summary) |
Fair
trade fortnight begins on 25th February and
this year’s theme is “Change Today ~ Choose
Fair Trade”. What this really means is that
we (as a part of BAFTS) are linking consumers
like you much closer to the workers who make
the clothes and now to the growers who harvest
the cotton. Sourced throughout India our Organic
Cotton is grown without the use of pesticides,
thus reducing the harmful long term effects
that these chemicals have on the environment
and on the workers. For more details please
see our webpage about the benefits of Organic
Cotton |
