Project Vasudha – Organic Cotton Cultivation
Vasudha – the name that translates
to Mother Earth in English. A unified approach to scientific sustainable
farming, improving the prosperity of the farmers and a determined
step towards thanking Mother Earth for everything that she offers
us .......this is what Vasudha is all about. |

The project “Vasudha” is centered
around village Karhii, about 80 kms. from Indore City. The project
is spread in over 6000 acres of farmland. In the curriculum of
the project, farmers have been taught to apply scientific approach
using household waste, cattle waste, twigs, herbs, rock phosphate,
deoiled cakes, and biodynamic preparations to convert it to natural
organic manure. The project also imparts knowledge on complete
waste management, health care of animals as well as the villagers,
the importance of maintaining ecological balance, and soil and
pest management methods.
A Technical Consultant and five Extension Supervisors
are always present there to monitor the farming activities and
also to guide, support and motivate the farmers.

The farmers are kept abreast of the latest
organic farming practices. The farmers are socially acquainted
with prominent buyers, who visit the farms. This infuses them
with the importance of their organic cultivation.in village Karhii
