Cool and Comfortable Clothes for a Stylish Summer at Home
Just because you're staying at home for the summer, it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t dress with style. Research has found that the clothes we wear have a direct impact on our self-esteem and confidence. This is why it is important to wear clothes that you love, even if you are spending the summer months lounging in your back garden. With the British summer being a little unpredictable, it's good to have a few wardrobe choices that cover a humid heat wave, a cool sunny day, and even a little rain. You can enjoy spending time at home, but still dress in style and comfort.
A garden party at home is the perfect excuse for a little bit of glam. You can pair a double layer vest in a bright colour with a pair of linen trousers and some kitten heels and look effortlessly chic. Take style notes from Amelia Marni, one of Australia’s Love Island favourites. She favours linen trousers paired with crossover tops, as they can be styled differently every time you wear them. You can accessorise your outfit with the Cairo necklace and earrings for one party, and then pair your clothes with a Zen print scarf for the next social event. Organic cotton is a good choice for summer, as it is cool and lightweight, and the natural fibres help your skin to breathe in the warm weather.
Enjoying the garden
If you're spending time on your garden or at the allotment, then it's important to be comfortable in the summer months. Chambray dungarees are really practical if you're doing jobs in the garden. The chambray fabric is ethically produced and the lightweight cotton is easy to move in. A pair of cropped leggings with a colourful tunic top is another good choice for a day in the garden. The leggings contain elastane, so they will always keep their shape, and they are made from soft, organic cotton that is produced without harmful toxins and pesticides. Cropped leggings are also a good choice to put under a dress when the evening gets cooler.
A little rain must fall
It wouldn’t be a British summer without rain, but you can easily stay dry by wearing an organic cotton canvas raincoat. These come in a beautiful lagoon blue or a summer breeze print. The raincoats have a flattering drawstring waist that's completely adjustable to suit your shape. The cotton is 90% biodegradable, and there's no sweaty plastic backing, so in the summer months you will still feel cool and comfortable wearing the jacket. Even in the rain, you can still be stylish and enjoy the great outdoors.
With the right wardrobe, you can enjoy a glorious summer at home, whatever the weather. A few staple items can be suitable to dress up or down for any occasion.
