A grown up festival style guide
Our what to wear style guide to see you through festival season.
Whether you were lucky enough to bask in the Somerset sunshine or you watched your favourite bands courtesy of the BBC, it was hard to escape Glastonbury this weekend. The ultimate in UK summer festivals, there is always a whole host of style inspiration to be found wandering those famous fields – but if a sequinned jumpsuit just isn’t the look for you this festival season, we’re here to reassure you that is perfectly ok!
When it comes to grown-up festival dressing there isn’t much inspiration out there, so we’ve picked out the Nomads pieces from this season that will be perfect for sipping Pimms in a field.
The tie-dye dress
Our contemporary take on a boho classic features a flattering relaxed-neckline and a handkerchief hem – the perfect midi skirt length for avoiding mud AND swishing.
Ok, so tie dye has been an inaugural part of festival dress since time began, but if it isn’t broken…
The chunky knit cardi
Even on glorious sunshine filled days there comes a time when evening sets in and you find yourself reaching for a cover up. It doesn’t get cosier than an organic cotton cardi – and it’s so lightweight compared to traditional wool that you won’t mind carrying it with you.
Organic cotton leggings
A keeping cosy must, when it’s just too darn cold for bare legs organic cotton leggings are the answer – they work perfectly with dresses and tunics and are no stranger to a pair of wellies.
The festival cover-up
Unfortunately, English weather often demands the need for more than a cardigan, but when you’ve gone to so much effort a cag-in-a-bag is not the perfect solution. Enter the jacquard coat - with fabulous embroidery detail it’s a real show-stopper that will only add to your festival vibes. We love the vibrant avocado shade but it’s also available in classic navy.
Anything with pockets!
If all else fails, just make sure you have pockets! From hand sanitiser to your mobile phone, having your hands free is a must (you don’t want to be putting anything on the floor in a porta loo!) Trust us, you’ll thank yourself later.
Share your festival style with us on Instagram, and remember - you’re never too old for glitter, just make sure it’s the plastic free kind!
