Our design assistant, Sian has always had a deep love for clothing and celebrates an individual dress sense. Sian sees style as a form of non-verbal communication and is fascinated by what people choose to wear and why. Style is such a personal and exciting topic but can be quite confusing and stressful for some. So we thought who better to ask for a helping hand with choosing the key pieces for your winter wardrobe? C’mon Sian, tell us your secrets…
The Dress: SK28
I think this is an absolute go to for feeling fabulous and feminine. It’s gorgeous border print creates a strong statement and adds a pop of colour to your outfit. It’s a great length – you can bend and run around in it and not have to worry about it rising up. I would team it with leggings and Doc Martens for casual day wear and black tights with suede boots for evening wear. When its super cold there’s enough room to layer beneath the dress too – it’s an absolute winner!
The Skirt: AU34
This is my favourite piece this season. There is something about velvet that just gets me. It feels so luxurious and the vibrant colours of the Aurora print makes it feel extra special. I wore this skirt to the pub with a leather jacket, black cami, heavy ethnic jewellery, black tights and suede boots and felt a million dollars. For a more casual look I would wear a long knitted cardi, plain organic shirt with a scarf and boots. Sorted!
The Needle-cord: AY25
I adore this patch work style, ethnic print. It immediately jumped out at me and I just had to have it. I think this is perfect for a grey day as the print brightens up your look and the shift style dress is cosy yet stylish. Not only does it look and feel great it is also very practical. I wear this with my doc martens and tights and layer it up with our long edge to edge cardis. You can also wear it over trousers or even with heels to feel more sophisticated.
The Tunic: EH45
Tunics are my go to when I’m having a “I don’t know what to wear” wardrobe melt down day. Yes, it does happen to me too! It always seems to be most prominent on a Monday morning or if I haven’t had my second coffee. Tunics are great with leggings or jeans for ultimate comfort days. I have been on a gorgeous moorland walk to the pub and felt stylish yet warm while wearing this piece. Again, there’s enough room to layer long sleeve tops underneath to achieve extra warmth in the winter months.
The Shirt: CU45
Who doesn’t love an embroidered shirt? Simple and chic but with a touch of bohemian spirit this shirt will happily go with anything in your wardrobe. Perfect to wear with jeans or skirts this shirt feels lovely and soft on and works with all of our winter knitwear.
The Trousers: JJ15
Our fitted jeans have been colour matched to work with our whole current collection. A mix of cotton and elastane makes them soft and stretchy, resulting in an incredibly comfortable pair of trousers. I dress them up with suede boots, or if I’m feeling particularly funky, some vintage cowboy boots. I wear my embroidered shirt (CU45) religiously with them along with my edge to edge cardi or leather jacket.
The Cover up: KG71
Our ponchos are the most versatile piece in our collection and, if you only buy one thing from our range this season, I urge it to be this. You can wear this piece six different ways and it’s basically like having a blanket with you at work all day. The next best thing than having your duvet right? I wear mine for weekend adventures and in our studio. It’s also great for snuggling up in whilst watching your favourite series.
The Winter warmer: KG23
I am a dress fan as well as a knitwear fan so this dreamy combo of a knitted dress is a top piece for me this winter. I add a patterned scarf, doc’s (or wellies) and lots of chunky jewellery to funk this ensemble up a bit. Leggings, tights, jeans or even harems can be worn under this tunic dress. It can be smarted up with a classic leather or biker jacket and fancy boots. A very good versatile day to night piece.
The Coat: AU63
Luxurious velvet, bold buttons, and beautiful tailored details - need I say more as to why this is my favourite coat this year? Warm and eye catching in either autumnal or jewelled hues this coat is a statement piece which will make you want to go outside this winter. Imagine meeting the girls for a coffee or a date night wearing this? Perfect for blustery woodland or coastal walks, school runs and weekends away.
